QBXWatcher

QBXWatcher is the assistant that lives in the QuickBox.IO Discord server. It answers questions about QuickBox Pro, links your Discord account to your license, checks the health of your own servers on request, and guides new members through onboarding.

You do not install QBXWatcher. It runs on our Discord server, and everything below happens inside Discord.

Note

Join, verify, then link your server

Three steps unlock everything: join the Discord server, run /verify to prove your QuickBox Pro license, then run /server add so QBXWatcher can report on the box you actually run.

What it does

License verification

Links your Discord account to your QuickBox Pro license and grants the Verified role

Server status on request

Reports CPU, RAM, disk, uptime and installed apps for servers you have linked yourself

Support answers

Answers new support threads with a conversational, cited answer drawn from the docs, and flags misfiled posts

Documentation answers

Answers questions from the QuickBox knowledge base with the sources it used

Guided diagnostics

Walks you through app-specific troubleshooting against your linked server

Onboarding

Runs the vault and training-ground quest that introduces new members to the server

Community stats and fun

Achievements, leaderboards, movie and TV recommendations, the Reel Riddle guessing game, and the QuickBox lore codex

Seven languages

Replies in English, German, Danish, Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Simplified Chinese

Three ways to talk to it

Slash commands

Type / in any channel and Discord shows the command list. Every command is documented in the Command Reference. Most replies are private to you unless you pass a show option.

Mentioning it

Mention the bot with a help keyword and it opens the help browser for you:

text
@QBXWatcher help
@QBXWatcher help plex

The help keyword is recognised in every supported language, so hilfe, aide, ayuda, ajuda, and 帮助 work too.

Pasted CLI output is ignored
Note

Lines that look like QuickBox CLI usage — qb help, qb --debug, and similar — do not trigger a mention response. You can paste terminal output into a thread without the bot jumping in.

In the #watch-recommendations channel a mention does something different: QBXWatcher becomes a film-and-TV companion. Ask it about a title in plain words and it answers from live data, ask it to show me the card for <title> — or just name a title — for the full recommendation card, and it remembers your recent conversation so follow-ups carry on. See Media and recommendations.

Posting in a support forum

The Get Support forums mirror this documentation — one forum for each application category, plus general forums for getting started, self-hosting, and the dashboard. Open a thread in the forum that matches your problem and QBXWatcher replies with a conversational, cited answer drawn from the docs while you wait for a human. When it is not sure, it says so rather than guessing, and it steps aside the moment a team member joins the thread. See Getting Help.

What verification unlocks

Anyone in the server can use the general commands. Commands that reach out to your server require the Verified role, because they act on credentials you supplied.

Tip

Run /verify and QBXWatcher opens a DM, asks for the email or username on your QuickBox account, and emails you a short code. Full walkthrough in Verifying Your License.

Choosing your language

QBXWatcher replies in your language. By default it follows your Discord client language; run /language to pick one explicitly.

Note

Command replies, prompts, and buttons are translated. The application help topics the bot reads out are currently written in English only, and the bot says so when it shows one.

Privacy

Do

  • Link a server with /server add only if you want QBXWatcher to report on it
  • Use a read-only API key when linking — status commands never need write access
  • Keep replies private; most commands are private by default and only go public if you pass show
  • Use the hidden option to mask your hostname when you post output into a thread
  • Remove a server with /server remove when you decommission it

Don't

  • Do not paste an API key into a public channel — every credential prompt is a private modal or DM
  • Do not share show:true output that contains your hostname in a public thread
  • Do not leave QuickSupport enabled after a support session is finished
  • Do not assume the bot polls your server — it only reads when you run a command
QBXWatcher does not monitor your server on a schedule
Important

It reads your server only when you run a command, and only against hosts you linked yourself. The one exception is the optional health alert you switch on yourself with /server alerts toggle:on, which sends you a DM.
