QuickBox Pro License Agreement

The terms under which you may install and use QuickBox Pro.

Overview

Effective date: October 16, 2026
Licensor: QuickBox.IO ("QuickBox.IO", "we", "us").

This QuickBox Pro License Agreement ("Agreement") governs your use of QuickBox Pro. It forms part of, and is incorporated into, the QuickBox.IO Terms of Service ("Terms"). By installing, activating, or using QuickBox Pro you agree to this Agreement. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

1. Definitions

  • "Software" means QuickBox Pro, including the qb command-line tool, the QuickBox Pro dashboard, installers, system scripts, updates, and related documentation, in any form, but excluding Third-Party Components.
  • "Third-Party Components" means open-source or third-party software that the Software installs, bundles, or works with, each licensed under its own terms (see Section 9 and our Third-Party Notices).
  • "Server" means one physical or virtual machine on which the Software is activated with your license key.
  • "Subscription" means a paid plan purchased through quickbox.io that entitles you to activate the Software on a stated number of Servers for a stated term.
  • "Authorized Users" means the people you allow to use the Software on your Server, including the user accounts you create on it.

2. License Grant

Subject to this Agreement and payment of fees, QuickBox.IO grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the Software, in object-code or encrypted form only, on the number of Servers your Subscription covers, for the term of your Subscription.

You may let Authorized Users use the Software on your Server.

Hosted and commercial use is permitted. You may use the Software to provide hosted, managed, or shared services to your own customers, including selling accounts or seedbox services on a Server you operate, provided that:

  1. every Server is covered by its own active Subscription;
  2. your customers receive access to the services, not a copy of or license to the Software, and you do not disclose your license key to them;
  3. you remain responsible for your customers' use of the Software and for your own terms, pricing, support, and legal obligations toward them, including privacy obligations for the customer information described in Section 3; and
  4. you do not present yourself as QuickBox.IO, or your service as provided or endorsed by QuickBox.IO, except to state truthfully that your service runs on QuickBox Pro.

Your customers have no rights against QuickBox.IO under this Agreement.

3. Activation, License Verification, and Server Information

The Software requires activation with a license key and periodically verifies the license with QuickBox.IO servers. Activation sends basic information about the Server (such as its hostname, public IP address, operating system, and software versions), and license checks send only the license key and installation ID.

The Software also offers optional telemetry, which is off on new installations and is sent only while a Server administrator has it turned on. Servers installed before October 16, 2026 may have it on; an administrator can turn it off at any time. While enabled, it reports Server health, usage, and user-account information every five minutes, including the usernames and email addresses of user accounts on the Server. The full list of what is sent in each case, and how we use it, is in our Privacy Policy. If telemetry is enabled while you provide services to others under Section 2, you are responsible for telling your own users that this information is shared with QuickBox.IO.

3A. Subscription Term, Renewal, and Lapse

Your license has no fixed end date. It continues for as long as your Subscription remains active and paid. If a renewal payment is not received when due, your license is suspended. If payment is still not received within seventy-two (72) hours after the due date, the Subscription and license expire and Section 10 applies.

3B. Your Server

You are solely responsible for your Server, whether you own it or rent it from a third party, including its hardware, hosting, operating system, network connectivity, security, availability, and backups. QuickBox.IO does not own, operate, control, or monitor your Server, and has no responsibility for its uptime or for any loss caused by its failure, outage, or unavailability.

4. Restrictions

Except as expressly permitted by this Agreement or by a Third-Party Component's own license, you will not, and will not allow anyone else to:

  1. copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the Software;
  2. reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decrypt, or otherwise attempt to derive source code of the Software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
  3. remove, disable, or circumvent license keys, activation, verification, or any technical protection in the Software;
  4. sell, resell, rent, lease, lend, distribute, sublicense, or transfer the Software or your license key, or share a license key across more Servers than your Subscription covers;
  5. give a third party a copy of the Software, a license key, or administrative control of the licensing, other than through the hosted use Section 2 permits;
  6. use the Software, its documentation, or access obtained through your Subscription (including customer-only community spaces) to build, train, or market a competing product, or to solicit QuickBox.IO customers;
  7. remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices;
  8. use the Software in violation of applicable law, including copyright law.

5. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. QuickBox.IO and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in the Software, including all intellectual property rights. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. "QuickBox", "QuickBox Pro" and the QuickBox logo are trademarks of QuickBox.IO and may not be used without prior written consent.

6. Your Content and Responsibility

The Software installs and manages applications. It includes no media, trackers, indexers, or content. You are solely responsible for the content you download, store, stream, or share using the Software and the applications it manages, and for complying with the law and any third-party rights that apply to that content.

7. Feedback

If you send suggestions or feedback, QuickBox.IO may use them without restriction or obligation to you.

8. Updates

QuickBox.IO may provide updates, which are governed by this Agreement unless they come with separate terms. Some updates may be required to keep the Software working or secure.

9. Third-Party Components

The Software installs, bundles, or interoperates with Third-Party Components that are licensed to you under their own licenses (for example GPL, LGPL, BSD, MIT, Apache and PSF licenses), listed in our Third-Party Notices. Nothing in this Agreement restricts, limits, or adds conditions to any right you have under a Third-Party Component's license. Where such a license requires us to make source code available, we do so as described in the Third-Party Notices. Sections 4 and 5 apply only to the Software, not to Third-Party Components.

10. Term and Termination

This Agreement runs for as long as you hold an active, paid Subscription. It ends automatically when your Subscription expires under Section 3A or you cancel it. QuickBox.IO may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach this Agreement or the Terms and, where the breach can be cured, do not cure it within 14 days after notice. When the license ends you must stop using the Software. Sections 3B, 4 to 7, and 11 to 15 survive termination.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUICKBOX.IO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR SERVER AND DATA.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUICKBOX.IO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT OR THE SOFTWARE. QUICKBOX.IO'S TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

13. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify QuickBox.IO against third-party claims arising from content you handle with the Software or your breach of Section 4 or Section 6.

14. Export and Sanctions

The Software is subject to US export control and sanctions laws, including the Export Administration Regulations. You will not export, re-export, or use the Software in violation of those laws, including in embargoed countries or by sanctioned persons.

15. US Government End Users

The Software is "commercial computer software" and its documentation is "commercial computer software documentation" under FAR 12.212 and DFARS 227.7202. Government end users receive only the rights granted to all other users under this Agreement.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which QuickBox.IO has its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located there have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement, and each party consents to their personal jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court where it qualifies. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

17. General

  • Changes. We may update this Agreement. We will post the new version with its effective date and give notice of material changes by email to the address on your QuickBox.IO account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the change.
  • Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement without our written consent. We may assign it in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or to a business entity we form or control to operate QuickBox.IO; your license continues unchanged after any such assignment.
  • Severability / waiver. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver.
  • Entire agreement. This Agreement, the Terms, and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the Software. If this Agreement and the Terms conflict about the Software, this Agreement controls.
  • Prior versions. Earlier releases were distributed with a BSD 3-Clause notice. From October 16, 2026, all releases of the Software are licensed only under this Agreement.
