For those of you who ordered QuickBox Pro, Guru Installs, or even our DNS, you have access to our private ticket support. Many of you are already aware of the new ticketing system and how much easier it has become. In the pas it was a bit clunky and a pain to communicate through, we have now squashed the complicated nonsense and made things much easier to deal with. A fun new addition is actually knowing which member of staff you’re talking… I know… Anyone can submit a ticket after becoming a member to the QuickBox website, however, priority support is only granted to those who are paying customers, for obvious reasons. Don’t let this discourage anyone from opening a ticket and asking a question, but do please remember, our Forums are an excellent resource for information! [/vc_column_text][separator width=”120px” position=”center” color=”#777777″ margin_top=”30px” margin_bottom=”30px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”License Control” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:21px|text_align:left|line_height:21px” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]Since the launch of QuickBox Pro, it’s been pretty clear that there needs to be a better way to handle your QuickBox Pro license keys. Whether you are needing to move to a new server, or do a quick reinstall, users have had to open a Private Ticket here on the site to have a Staff member do a reset. Well, the day has finally come where this process can be 100% under your control.Let’s talk about how this works real quick.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Deactivating your license:
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]To deactivate your license, head over to the General Settings page. In the License Control panel, click the Deactivate License radio button, then click Submit Changes. The deactivation is instant, however, your dashboard is set to changes after 5 minutes of the key be deactivated, this will give you time to activate your key once more if it was deactivated by mistake. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Once you have deactivated your license, you can safely reinstall your OS and/or transfer your license to a new server. After a few minutes of your license being deactivated, on a page refresh, you will have several menu items become deactivated. These are associated with the multi-user functions. It will look similar to the following. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Activating your license:
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Much like the deactivation process, you will alternatively select the Activate License radio button, followed by clicking the Submit Changes button.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][separator width=”120px” position=”center” color=”#777777″ margin_top=”30px” margin_bottom=”30px”][vc_custom_heading text=”Theme Swapping” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:21px|text_align:left|line_height:21px” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]Not everyone is into the dark aesthetic, some want a more refreshing and bright appearance. This is something that has been a part of the current Community versions, but was missing from Pro. We have done some overhauling on how the theme selection is delivered, as well as it’s overall responsiveness, and we’re proud to have it back. We’re playing with several ideas for future versions, namely, the ability to add and insert custom themes… so be sure you keep a watchful eye out in future versions!A Preview? Yes!
[fvplayer src=”https://quickbox.io/files/2018/06/theme_swapping.mp4″ splash=”https://quickbox.io/files/2018/06/theme_selector-splash.png”][/vc_column_text][separator width=”120px” position=”center” color=”#777777″ margin_top=”30px” margin_bottom=”30px”][vc_custom_heading text=”Better Quota Installer” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:21px|text_align:left|line_height:21px” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]One of the biggest additions as ofv0.5.0
, is the better handling of the Quota installer on the Dashboard. Users can now directly edit their fstab to ensure a proper mount for quotas, this is especially great for those with mount points such as /mnt
/media
/somethingweird
. So in short, QuickBox Pro should now better handle custom mounts… Yay!
When installing quotas, you’ll notice there is a field entered with the specific string that needs to be added…
usrjquota=aquota.user,jqfmt=vfsv1,errors=remount-ro 0 1
…thus, if you’re using Hetzner, you may see somethin like the following:
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/md/0 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/md/1 /boot ext3 defaults 0 0
/dev/md/2 / ext4 defaults 0 0
/dev/md/3 /home ext4 defaults 0 0
In this for instance, your primary mount point is on /
root. Therefore, as per the suggested string that is posted for change, you’re updated fstab field will look like the following edit:
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/md/0 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/md/1 /boot ext3 defaults 0 0
/dev/md/2 / ext4 usrjquota=aquota.user,jqfmt=vfsv1,errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/md/3 /home ext4 defaults 0 0
Check out how this works in the below video demonstration.

Another thing that makes this very exciting is the ground-breaking this ushers in for future iterations of QuickBox Pro, as this feature acts as the template for how we can handle applications installed and their associated configurations… easily, from the Dashboard![/vc_column_text][separator width=”120px” position=”center” color=”#777777″ margin_top=”30px” margin_bottom=”30px”][vc_custom_heading text=”Languages. Thanks to some busy Translators, QuickBox Pro is now available in 3 languages! Offering Danish, English and French, and we’re hoping to get more as time develops. Give a big warm greeting to the Translators if you see them around, these guys have done some serious time and effort.
We owe thanks to both tomcdj71, and Globber, for the incredible work they have done ensuring fluid and proper translations of French and Danish. Excellent work guys and the QuickBox Community appreciates your hard work and time.[/vc_column_text][separator width=”120px” position=”center” color=”#777777″ margin_top=”30px” margin_bottom=”30px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
