After the launch of our OTP (One Time Passcode) trials, we were met some very positive feedback and appreciation. After a couple of weeks passed we accumulated feedback that was gathered by way of skimming comments and discussions in Discord, failed login counts on the site (either legitimate blocks or not, blocks all the same), attempted password resets, direct emails and communications over changed or forgotten email addresses… the list goes on. It became clear that QuickBox.IO users preferred to have a more direct 2FA option as the additional layer of account security.

Well, that day is here! We have now rolled out 2FA and it is available from your account panel under the Privacy & Security tab (/my-account/privacy-security/). Within the Privacy & Security panel you will see a new setting for 2FA, click on the Configure 2FA button to begin the process of connecting your favorite 2FA application to your QuickBox.IO account.
Clicking on the Configure 2FA button, you will be greeted with a popup that will help you get your account setup with 2FA.
Simply scan the QR code with your favorite 2FA application. Once scanned and saved, click the I’m Ready button.
You will now be presented a popup to enter in your generated token from your 2FA application. Simply insert the code and click the Validate & Save Configuration button.
Congrats! You have now enabled 2FA on your QuickBox.IO account and done your part to secure your account and the greater community.
It is advised to click the Generate Backup codes button before closing out the setup wizard, although, you can easily at any time revisit this tab and generate them. Having backup codes are handy in the event you have lost your device with the 2FA application that authenticates with QuickBox.IO.
Once you have completed setting up 2FA for your account you will have the options to Change your 2FA settings, Remove 2FA from your account, or generate new backup codes. An additional display counter will inform you of the number of backup codes that have been used, so if you’re in the habit of using backup codes, do keep an eye on this and generate a new set or you could face a lockout.
