Notice on OTP requirements:
The below article pertains to a grace period for implementing and routine testing of the One Time Passcode system. On June 4th 2021 OTP will be required along with normal username/email and password authentication. Meaning: It will be required to also enter the passcode delivered to your email registered here on the quickbox.io website. We do hope that you see this as a feature and not an inconvenience as this is an additional precaution implemented with our users in mind. 💖
What is OTP?
OTP or “One Time Passcode” Verification verifies Email Addresses of users by sending OTP verification code during registration and login. This also allows the means to passwordless logins, meaning if you’ve forgotten your password you can simply enter either your Username or your Email registered here on the site and select the option to Login with OTP. There are no additional setup requirements on your end, just access to your registered QuickBox.IO account email to receive your pin code for verification.
How to Login with OTP
You’ll find the new option located on the login page.
As you can see in the example above I have opted to leave the password field blank and will select the Login with OTP option.
Upon hitting the Login with OTP button, you’ll be presented with a popup asking you to enter your passcode that has been issued to the email address for your Username (you can login with your email address as well).
Just like that, you’re now logged in and no password needed!
Can I login with just my username and password?
Sure you can! The OTP validation is optional and simply another layer of security for users, you can take the traditional route and enter in your username/email and password and hit the standard Login button.
Forgot your password?
We now have OTP verification on the password reset form to ensure that your account belongs to you. Enter in either your username or your email and tap the Reset Password button. Doing so will reveal the message confirming your email address the passcode has been sent to. Enter the code in your email and hit the Verify button.
Once the code is entered and verified, you’ll then be taken to the password reset form to take care of business.
No two passcodes sent out are the same and are always randomized, however, when receiving these passcodes in your email it is advised to not share the code with anyone.
As a reminder, QuickBox.IO will never send emails requesting you to update/change your password and these are only signaled on user request.
Enjoy! 💖
