Sonarr 5 and Radarr 7: QuickBox now stays on the version you run
🛠️ Sonarr 5 and Radarr 7 are safe to update in-app. QuickBox will no longer roll them back.
Sonarr 5.0 beta and Radarr 7 recently arrived on their develop and nightly branches, and both can update themselves from inside the app. A user in our Discord spotted a problem: once Sonarr updated itself to 5.0, QuickBox still only knew about Sonarr 4. It offered 4.0.20 as an "update", and running it moved Sonarr back to 4 on a database that 5.0 had already changed. Thank you for the report. This update fixes it, and it covers Radarr too.
What changes:
- ●QuickBox follows the major version you have installed. If Sonarr is on 5, QuickBox checks for and installs Sonarr 5 releases. If it is on 4, it stays on 4. The same goes for Sonarr4K.
- ●No more older versions shown as updates. The update check for Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr and Prowlarr only offers a version that is actually newer than the one you run.
- ●No downgrade across a major version. If you switch Sonarr or Radarr back to a branch that only has an older major version (for example Radarr 7 back to
master), QuickBox will not install it. It tells you why, changes nothing, and leaves the app running. - ●A failed update no longer leaves the app stopped. If the download fails part way, Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr and Prowlarr start back up instead of staying down.
All of the new messages are translated into every language QuickBox supports.
If you already ran a QuickBox update on Sonarr 5 and ended up back on Sonarr 4, open Sonarr, go to System > Updates and install 5.0 again. We tested this and it comes back clean.
One heads-up for anyone moving to Sonarr 5: Sonarr 5 turns on a login by itself. If you see a login page, the username is sonarr and the password is in Sonarr's log file, /home//.config/Sonarr/logs/sonarr.txt (search for "created 'sonarr'"). Sign in, then change it under Settings > General. Radarr 7 does not do this.
